Oh good grief, it is cold.
I had rather been enjoying the mild temperature and dry weather of late and now it seems to have quickly, out of nowhere, transitioned into baltic conditions that would sooner suit Northern Scandinavia then Northern Ireland.
I knew it was coming, but it doesn’t feel like the winter has simply crept up, rather it has hurtled and slammed straight into us, leaving a wake of frosted leaves, crisp air and minus degrees. Ice scares the crap out of me and whilst it might look nice, glistening in the sunlight, it is a nightmare to each and every driver.
On the plus side, the autumn is still clinging on to survival. Lady Dixon park was beautifully strewn with seasonal shades of gold, amber and chestnut, making it the perfect backdrop for this outfit post.
To brave the chill, I threw on my skinny jeans, oversized shirt, chenille knitted jumper, Next ankle boots and bobble hat. Although it felt like minus degrees, this knitted jumper from Zara proved itself to be a true cold weather warrior. A recent purchase, it feels amazingly soft and I love the dark green colour. I was able to wear this without a coat for a very, very brisk walk in the park. We later drove into Belfast for a spot of shopping, so I didn’t feel that I needed a coat to hop from store to store.
I’m a big advocate of comfy ankle boots at any time of the year, but they are an absolute necessity during Winter, the perfect companion for cold conditions. I picked up these Next brown beauties from their current collection, gifted to me a few weeks back and I have to say that I really do love them. The quality is evident and the heel is just the right height with a little tassel detail on the side.
Outfit: New look striped shirt, Miss Selfridge grey skinny jeans, Zara knitted jumper, Primark bobble hat, Next brown/tan ankle boots, Jaeger handbag
My Primark bobble hat is still a staple in my new season wardrobe this year as it was when I bought it late last year. It’s the perfect shape and the little faux fur detail is just the right amount of cute and cosy.
Who else is getting into the festive spirit this year?! I’m feeling extra Christmassy, so expect a series of joyous, merry posts and videos over the next few weeks. Bring on the fresh smell of pine, mulled wine and of course, the Muppets Christmas Carol. Xo
