Long Time, No See – Why I Haven’t Blogged In A While

It’s been an absolute age since I last blogged, November 2017 in fact. Over half a year ago, since I logged into my wordpress dashboard and wrote down my thoughts, feelings, inspiration and /or musings.

As a digital marketer, I used to believe that my job required me to always be switched on, to always be checking my phone and to never miss a social media beat. This left me drained both physically and mentally. I don’t have boundless energy and I’m not one of those people that only needs a handful of hours sleep at night. I need my 7 hours shut-eye!

My job has and will always come first, it pays the bills, its what I’ve worked hard for and its what I am passionate about. However, what I’ve slowly come to realise is that it’s not the only thing that I should focus my time and energy on. There genuinely is more to life.

Of course there are sacrifices that have to be made if there is a deadline or if you want a promotion or pay rise, but there is also great importance in completely switching off, taking time out, travelling, going on holiday or just spending a night in front of the TV, not the computer or phone, Netflix bingeing or Love Island obsessing.

I’m on a mission to reclaim my social life, to fill it with the things that I love doing and to be realistic with what I can achieve. I’m not going to set myself targets of blogging or instagramming everyday, as I just won’t keep to that frequency, but I can make little changes and try to blog at least once a month or instagram 3 times a week. To get back into a routine of doing the things that I enjoy and remembering why I started it in the first place.

This little outfit post is focused all around my beautiful new time piece. I’ve seen lots of bloggers wearing fabulous watches from the brand Cluse, but I was yet to own one. Thankfully, Browns Family Jewellers got in touch and gifted me this lovely watch with a grey strap and rose gold surround. It’s pretty, feminine and I’m confident that it will sweetly go with any outfit in my wardrobe.

If you’re interested in learning about the history of the time piece, then check out this infographic. I’m more of a vintage gal, so the early watch era definitely caught my eye.

Outfit; Miss selfridge jeans, Marks & Spencer bag, Primark shirt, ASOS belt, Marks & Spencer sunglasses, New Look heels, Cluse watch from Browns Family Jewellers
